OCC Tint - Tinted Moisturiser for Pale, Pale People
I'm finally getting round to reviewing some of the goodies I bought myself at IMATS, it's only taken me what...a month? Whatever.
With all this amazing weather (the UK has been CRAZY warm, even Yorkshire has had temperatures above 20 C) I've been wanting to wear lighter & lighter bases & I'm sure I'm not the only one! My problem is that lighter bases usually come in less colours & rarely come corpse coloured....like me ^^
OCC is a brand that doesn't have a problem with pale, if you've ever used their concealers you'll know that even though they only have 10 shades spread equally across 2 undertones they mange to have super pale shades & nice deep shades pretty much covering every base. Kind of the way Mac Face & Body do shades....except a lot paler.
Actually the formula of this is quite similar to Face & Body in a number of ways. The formula is very light & water based & as you work it in it suddenly becomes....the only way I can explain it is 'stiffer' & then it sets onto the skin.
I can't really compare this to Face & Body because despite having two shades of face & body (white & N1) it still turns up the wrong shade on my skin. However I'm pretty sure this is a lighter coverage, being a tinted moisturizer rather than a foundation
Focusing on the word moisturiser for a second though, I don't find that this formula moisturises my skin particularly. It feels more like a beautifully lightweight foundation. And I managed not to sweat through it despite the crazy warm weather so I'm happy to moisturise before I put this on ^^

- Great shade range
- Sets so it's hard to sweat off
- A little goes a long way
Negatives
- Hard to get hold of in the UK
- Kind of pricey (£17.99 for 30ml)
- No SPF so sun cream necessary
- not as moisturising or creamy as 'normal' tinted moisturisers

DeleteYou have to try their pigments, lip tars & cream pigments. Basically everything, I've yet to try a dud product from them!

In the summer, if we're going for a day out (on Friday we went to the beach), I normally opt out of the makeup and just wear my eyeliner, because I don't really leave home without that haha! But I've been tempted with tinted moisturiser as a way to wear less make up in general.
ReplyDeleteI struggle to leave home without at least a little bit of coverage, I can go kind of grey blue without it & having coverage on masks it when I'm around people. But I totally understand leaving off makeup in summer, particularly if you're going to the beach ^^
DeleteTinted moisturisers were the first makeup I ever wore, they are a great base option. I miss them being more available but western BB creams are basically the same thing...

I am Casper pale so it's really hard to find a decent tinted moisturiser, but this sounds great x

It really is, I've tried basically all other pale tinted moisturisers & this one is the only non-orange one that actually was pale enough for me ^^

ReplyDeleteMe too! I kind of gave up after the Urban Decay one came out 4 shades darker than me but the OCC one revived my faith in tinted moisturisers ^^
