Sunday Post: Events & their Consequences

I was a very lucky blogger this week, I got to go to TWO blogger events. My first two ever, both in one week. As you can imagine my M.E. wasn't especially happy about this & has been making me pay but it was SO worth it.
The first event I got to go to was the Crabtree & Evelyn #crabtreehandytips blogger event on Wednesday in the store they have in Victoria Quarter. I have SO much to tell you guys about this event but I'm going to hold as much of it in as possible for the blog post (coming soon) but lets just say that I have developed a huge obsession,
the people in the store are lovely & despite being an old building with a huge step it IS wheelchair accessible (they have a brilliant ramp) & I will be going back very soon.
I also might have done a teeny bit of shopping (okay a not so teeny bit but it was worth it).

Then on Friday I went to the Baracoa House of Fashion event (another blog post is forthcoming) but let me tell you, if you are picking a bar to go to in Leeds city centre, this one is at least very accessible (I'm not exactly the best judge of what people want from a bar but the access was good). The event was late (for me anyway) not starting until 7-8 ish. I had to leave before the end - unsurprisingly - but I managed to stick it out until 10pm even after drinking most of a white wine spritzer (man am I hard core).
I didn't feel too bad though, I didn't even feel too bad the next morning.
Then I went to football.
God am I stupid. I should just have asked my foster brother to scream into my ear for half an hour because I got back home, barely managed to get to my room before I collapsed & had to sleep.

I managed to sleep - or at least drift semi-consciously in a dream like state (if you've ever experienced it you know what I mean) - for about 20 hours.
I didn't even know that was possible. At least not for me, I've never been good at sleeping during the day...or for long periods.....
I'm laying all the blame on my new (stupidly pricey) eye mask. Ever since I got this thing I have been sleeping SO MUCH BETTER. I don't even question the cost anymore, it was 100% worth it.
Anyway, it's the one in the picture above, the Holistic Silk Eye-Mask & it smells of lavender & is oh so soft &....it's magic okay? Even at nearly £50 it's magic. Even knowing I could have bought a dress for the same amount of money it is magic. Yeah, I know.

I'm still kind of out of it. I'm not really able to cope with too much noise or light & I will probably go back to sleep in a bit. I am also (weirdly) struggling with chewing. So my mum, angel that she is, got me brioche rolls & ASDAs extra special egg custards.
If you ever need comfort food for any reason, particularly of the soft, creamy, sweet & fattening variety I highly recommend ASDA's fresh rice pudding & ASDA's extra special egg custards. Random end to a post I know but right now this feel like the most important thing I have ever had reason to type.

P.S. I have tried other brands of rice pudding, ASDAs fresh rice pudding is the ONLY one worth bothering with. Once you've had it you'll know what I mean. Seriously it is that good. Ditto their Extra Special egg custards. I should probably shut up now. I am so glad I scheduled tomorrow's post.

  1. I haven't had an egg custard in years, reading your post makes me want one NOW. I will have to get some next time I'm in Asda s.

  2. I'm so glad you came to the events, it was lovely to see you again! I really hope you can come to Carrieanne's WY Meet on July 12th - and no harsh after effects! Hopefully it'll be chilled out (and daytime!).

Oh and I have serious clutch bag envy - the one you had Friday night, was amazing. X

Sounds like a really exciting week! Looking forward to reading more about it in coming posts :) I know the 'having-difficulty-chewing' feeling and its pretty horrid. Really hope the payback isn't too nasty and you're feeling as well as can be ASAP
