Wheelchair Fashion: Winter Coat

My brain is mush & I'm looking at these pictures thinking, "Wow, why did I go through 3 outfits before I decided on this one?". I should totally have other things to say but I can think of nothing....

Winter coats are one of the things I have struggled with ever since I started having to use a wheelchair. The year before I got sick I bought an investment piece coat & by the time it got to the following winter I was too big & then I started using a wheelchair & realised that the full skirted coat I'd gotten didn't work any more. It's a huge faff to take off a coat when you're sitting on half of it lol. Since then I've tried a lot of different styles of coat & I think this is the first one that really works...let me know what you guys think.

I've been playing a lot of vintage style point & click pc games recently & absolutely loving it, you guys have to check out the Blackwell games on Steam! Old style 8-bit graphic style, classic click & point gaming style & really great (not too long) stories. You've also got to look out for the Book of Unwritten Tales, reminded me so much of my all time favourite game...Simon the Sorcerer, and I don't say that lightly. I really don't.

    1. Love it is a sentiment I can never hear too much ^^ (I'm not sure that made sense....)
The boots are the best shoes I've ever owned, I'm so bummed they keep trying to discontinue them ^^

  3. I totally know where you're coming from with the difficulties with coats. I find it especially hard because I'm a tiny person to begin with and always end up drowning in fabric. Lol.

    1. I'm sorry I think I got confused you make clothes? I'm in that complex rehab power chair and I have positioning straps I'd like to know where to get clothes as a lot of the stuff looks like it's made for seniors in nursing homes.

    1. Hi. I get my clothes from 'normal' people shops like modcloth & my local supermarket. I'm really lucky in that I don't have a lot of complex physical needs.
I know that that's not possible for a lot of wheelchair users. I would recommend looking at http://www.izadaptive.com/ but I would also see if you can find somewhere that does clothing adaptations. If you know what you need to make the clothes easier to wear most competent tailors should be able to make 'normal' clothes wearable.

I hope you mange to find what you are looking for

      Sally ^^ xx

Please think before you type. If you wouldn't say it in your mother's hearing, don't say it here.
