Beauty Essentials

Have I mentioned that we are moving rooms? I have? It's been really boring? Tough, it's kind of all consuming at the minute. Currently my brother is homeless, my room is full of the things that had been in his room & what will be my new room...well it's not pretty.
Tonight is the last time I'll have room of my own until my new room is finished (thursday/friday) so I've put together a basket of the stuff I don't want to be without.....so erm, that's what this post is.

So, erm skincare first & I guess I'll do this in order of use...kind of like an updated skincare routine.
The cleanser I picked is the Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil, I got this recently & I'm still making my mind up about it but I THINK I like it, it's definitely a super easy cleanser to use & it really takes off all the makeup.
In the little MAC travel bottle there is the Boots Botanics All Bright Toner which is a super mild acid toner that I use on a morning or every other time on an evening, lucky for me this essential is SUPER cheap.
Then I guess it's the La Roche-Posay Serozonic next & the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo...my skin has been needing extra help with spots recently & these are the best things I know for that. I put them on before serum & moisturiser as...like control undies underneath my serum & moisturiser.
Obviously after that it's serum & I'm out of my usual morning serum (Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum) so I'm using the nSpa one they happened to have in ASDAs.....I've been adding a drop of a face oil to it, either this one or my night oil.
Morning Moisturiser has been this Yes to Cucumbers one.
For SPF I've been using the Estee Lauder Anti-Oxidant & UV Defence SPF 50 one. I actually don't love this but it's pricey not to finish so I'm hoping to get through this before summer really start.
Evening routine also starts with the cleansing oil & then it's the holy grail Clarins 'water cleanser' & the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating toner which I've been using as my strong acid toner since I ran out of Liquid Gold...I miss the Liquid Gold but this is an okay substitute.
For eye cream I picked what is probably my favourite eye cream, the Anatomicals one with the stupidly long name. It's a light, no fuss eye cream that absorbs well & really...that's all I need. Plus it's £5.
Erm, then the Aurelia face oil that my skin could literally not cope without. I've done a full review of this so I'm not going to talk too much about it.
For night cream I've got the very last of my Origins High-Potency Oil-Free Night-a-Mins until recently I'd only ever used this night cream. I have tried two others now & neither of them were anything compared to this.
Anyway, the last product is the NUXE Reve de Miel Lipbalm which is like the best, ever lipbalm. I am almost out but I've had it for almost a year so I recon I'm still doing well.
Oh yeah, makeup is a little bit un-helpful for you guys. Both the eyeshadows palettes are limited edition & there are a bunch of Tarte products you can't find in the UK.
But these are my favourites/essentials, the RMK Makeup Base sample I got in my April Birchbox, the Tarte Powder Foundation - full review here - the tarte blusher in exposed, the Soap & Glory Bronzing Duo, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, the No7 Highlighter Stick - full review here - the Bourjous CC Cream, the Collection concealer, Nars Radiant Creamy concealer & the L'Oreal Lumi Magique concealer.... Oh yeah & then there's the two kind of eye primers (Nars & Benefit), the Mac Vanilla Pigment, Christmas' ages ago's Dior palette & this Christmas' Laura Mercier palette. A double ended 24/7 liner from Urban Decay, a white liner from Illamasqua & the L'Oreal mascara I keep raving about.
And for lips? The two my-lips-but-better lip colours I have been obsessed with in the L'Oreal Liquid Lipsticks range & a requisite red lip, in this case the hourglass matte liquid one in Icon.
Oh yeah & somewhere in the pot with my brushes is my hourglass brow thing...
So the random extras are, well 3 different kinds of face mask, a solid perfume & the dove dry shampoo... You know, the basics.
The solid perfume is the only one I own, the Le Soft Perfume one in Nemimiah - fruity but grown up - & great for spring.
Okay, then there are the crazy number of masks, starting with the best mask for ill people. the Apivita Express Beauty with Orange energising mask that contains CoEnzyme Q10. The honey version is my attempt at branching out, it's the moisturising mask from the same brand. And finally a clay mask, in this case the Aesop parsley seed one which I don't 100% love but it's transportable.....kind of.

  1. hope your room move goes well, moving is always stressful. At least you are organised which should help.

    1. Thank you. Honestly though, I think I could be the most organised person in the world & wouldn't do much good.
