Rosie's Diner - Kirkstall, Leeds

Summer holidays having officially started the number of properly watchable films at the cinema has quadrupled and as a family we have been finding ourselves more and more often at the only really accessible cinema in Leeds - the Vue Cinema in Kirkstall. It being the summer holidays going to the cinema means more than just going to the cinema; it means spending as much time out of the house as possible so whiney foster brother is less whiney. Officially, whiney foster brothers summer holidays started early as he finished school when he finished his exams so the trip to Rosie's I am reviewing is actually the second trip of the summer holidays....so far.

I am obsessed with Americana food and watch 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives' almost religiously. Rosie's Diner reminds me very much of things I have seen on 'triple D' ; some of the seating is in a big American school bus, all the food is slightly extreme, and you know...its an American style diner.
There are booths (along with two or three tables) for additional seating & this is all charmingly Americana, looking a little like a 50's theme restaurant.

The menu is very 'meat' based, although there are the occasional vegetarian options I'm not sure you'd pick Rosie's if your whole family were veggie - my brother spent most of the decision making process trying to decided between a full rack of ribs & an (I think) 14oz steak.

Sunday Post: Blogger Confessions

I was on skinnedcartree's blog & she had posted a blogger confessions post & I thought it seemed really fun. I've not really done anything like this before but I don't know......I just felt like I needed to post this. It happens sometimes & I guess that's part of why having a lifestyle blog is so good, you can post whatever you want, whenever you want. ^^
  • I sometimes forget to clean my teeth twice a day....okay, maybe I reguarly forget to clean my teeth reguarly. My brain struggles with random parts of normal routines these days.
  • I'm still struggling with telling non-bloggers about my blog....it just feels awkward & I wish I knew why
  • When I do ootd pictures I take as many as 300 pictures, then I eliminate the bad composition, the bad poses, the double chins, the bad backgrounds, the ones where the clothes look wrong & the un-salvagable exposures. I usually have about 15 pictures left & then I narrow them down to the absolute best. Or I have 3 left I have to salvage lol

Wheelchair Fashion: Golden Pastels

Ugh my arms are huge & flabby :(
First off, I'd like to mention I have less than no idea where the lines on my top have come from because nothing I was wearing had lines like that.... Ehhh, it happens.

When I went to Blog Yorkshire a few Saturdays past I won this amazing lilac/lavender bag & ever since I have been OBSESSED with pastels. I just want to wear the bag with everything!
Combine that obsession with the insanely warm weather we've been having & you end up with these pictures. The only time when the light is soft enough to take good pictures & the heat is survivable is on an evening. Hence golden light pictures like I've been wanting to take ever since I started following fashion blogs. The cliché ones with lens flare & backlighting. You guys will have to let me know if I managed to get it right ^^ Is it cliché enough?

OCC Tint - Tinted Moisturiser for Pale, Pale People

OCC Tint Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Tinted Moisturizer

I'm finally getting round to reviewing some of the goodies I bought myself at IMATS, it's only taken me what...a month? Whatever.

With all this amazing weather (the UK has been CRAZY warm, even Yorkshire has had temperatures above 20 C) I've been wanting to wear lighter & lighter bases & I'm sure I'm not the only one! My problem is that lighter bases usually come in less colours & rarely come corpse coloured....like me ^^
OCC is a brand that doesn't have a problem with pale,

Wheelchair Fashion: Yorkshire Lavender

Hi everyone. How nice has the weather been? I actually have a touch of natural tan. How freaky is that? I've not had a natural tan since I was 10!
Anyway, yesterday we decided to make the most of the wonderful weather & headed out to Yorkshire Lavender which is this lovely lavender farm/garden near Castle Howard. I've been wanting to take pictures there for AGES, it couldn't be a more perfect background. The tea rooms there are also awesome, stay to the end for my review of that too ^^

Flare Fashion: What I've Been Wearing

Hi this is Sally's Mum so don't blame Sally if its not up to her usual standard. She is flaring badly at the moment and is struggling to get out of bed but sheer boredom drove her from her room and she took the opportunity to get some photos of the kind of clothes she wears when she is too tired to get 'properly' dressed. The sunglasses are because she is light sensitive at the moment not because she is avoiding paparazzi.
Her make up is very basic because Sally was teaching me how to put minimal make up on her for when she gets too ill to put on her own. She was very polite about my efforts but will need to be desperate before she hands over her make up to me.
Sally is doing some challenges on Instagram if you want to catch up with her there.
Sally is desperately saving any energy she can muster so she can attend a Blogger Meet-up in Leeds on Saturday, and will be there, dead or alive, even if only briefly. She is definitely getting cabin fever and is desperate to leave the house, do something fun and talk to someone other than me!

I imagine Sally will edit (completely rewrite) the post once she is feeling better, so keep an eye out for the new and improved version.

Wheelchair Fashion: Watercolour Photography

I really regretted not taking photos of the outfit I wore to IMATS because (considering it was thrown together at 4 in the morning) it was super cute. Isn't that always the way, the outfits you kind of throw together are the cutest?

Anyway, I decided to re-do the outfit & get some pictures done....

* Top: M&S * Jacket, Old * Skirt: FCUK * Bag: Accessorize * Boots: Red or Dead @ Schuh *

Now this isn't an EXACT recreation because when does that ever happen?
